Farewell, Richard. May you rest in peace my friend.

I was driving when I heard the news and had to pull over. All of our thoughts and prayers to Rick’s family and friends. Thank You Rick for all you’ve done. We will meet again, some sunny day.
Goodbye, Goodbye,,,,,,Goodbye.
I thank Pink Floyd every day since they crossed my radar in the seventies for pushing me out of a straight life and into an altered state. I graduated from The University of the Road then, Cum Laude Pinkus Floydus…..
Richard Wright was a great musican who was a founding member of Pink Floyd I enjoyed listening to the music back when I was a teenager and now as an adult I still listen to it because with the problems that we all facing in today’s world the lyrics has more meaning .
To the Wright family I am sorry for your loss him and Syd are making the next Pink Floyd Album in heaven!
Since I was a kid and heard Pink Floyd on my friends 8 track in his 1969 Firebird, I have been a fan of Richard Wright. His music has helped me through hard times. I have been lucky enough to have seen him perform many times and I will always remember his smile and his passion for the music and the fans. He will live on through his music and through new generations who have and will continue to be touched by the music.

I always love Pink Floyd and yours components and when I knew that Richard was dead, I’ve stay very, very sad… I ‘ve feel a big pain in my heart and a big silence in my ears because we won’t hear yours melodys, lyrics and musics no more but, he certainly is a people that passed in the life of very people and he will be always in our hearts!!!

I have always played the “air keyboard” along with Richard. His music with Pink Floyd always put me in a place where ” No one can bother me”. Rest in peace Richard Wright. Your music will live on forever. Godbless.
I am in mourining, discovered Pink Floyd when i was 12, my sister was 9…they taught me how to feel. They can only be compared to the great geniouses in history, no contemporary musician had or will reach their heights. The loss of the sweetest member breaks my heart and kills one of my main dreams in life. I won’t wear any other color than black for a month, nor will I wear any other color than black.
So sad, I sing the song of a “piano man”
who was so much more than that,
always Wright, always on “Time”
always “On the Run”
always giving depth and altitude
to music that can never be described properly
other than saying Pink Floyd.
You will be missed as you embrace the “Great Gig in the Sky.”

Such a terrible loss. I have truly loved Pink Floyd and each member from the first time I heard them. I have had the ultimate pleasure of seeing them twice. There will never be another band like them, they are so unique and so tremendously talented and gifted, each member having so much to offer…What an awesome band. Richard will truly be missed; and to the other members, David and Nick…we love you.
I am turning 41 this year, born the same year Pink floyd was formed. I discovered Pink Floyd in 1975 and ever since it’s been my favorite band, I’ve seen them in concert 7 times and will always cherish this wonderful experience. You’ll always be with us. Rest in Peace.
I’m 56 and grew up on Floyd. Sid Barrett, David Gilmore, wright. started listening to them back in the early 70’s. some of my spelling might be off, but anyways. The Wall was one of my favorites. Run like hell I still listen too. I blast their music when I put it on. Do sorry to hear of his passing. One of the “Way ahead of their time bands” ever created. God bless.

When I heard of the passing of a legend it floored me. Floyd has always been my favorite rock band…any genre… To lose Richard Wright ends an era of rock music that can’t be duplicated. Those 5 people, Syd included, started something that has swept the world and will be heard by generations to come. Mr. Wright’s keyboards added that texture, the spacial mix that gave Floyd its identity from early on.
He is so going to be missed…..

As a professional keyboard player of 35 years, and as a Pink Floyd fan for just as long, I am truly saddened by Rick’s passing. His contribution to Pink Floyd’s legacy is beyond measure. He has always been an inspiration to me, and all R&R keyboardists, and always will be. Thank-you, kind soul.

The sound that came from his fingertips mixed with the sound of the band was truly a major marking point in my life. For 20 years I’ve been destressing and relaxing to the wonderful music of Pink Floyd. I will definately forever be grateful for Rick being a part of my life and will miss him terribly! It makes me smile to picture Rick and Syd going over good times up there. Rest peacefully, Richard Wright.
I will think of you, Rick, every time I enjoy a Pink Floyd album. This music changed my life in ways I cannot even express. Rest in Peace in your Great Gig in the Sky….
A true musician and one of gods gift(Pink Floyd) to the world. He will sorely be missed. His contribution to the band and the music of Pink Floyd will last forever!

I’ve been listing to Pink Foyd music for 33 years. It just fills me up when ever I here it which is nearly every day. My first song I was exposed to was “Money”. That was in the 6th grade, 1975. I’m 44 now and Pink Floyd is still to this day my #1 choice of music. Pink Floyd is just somthing I’ve grown with. Mr. Richard Wright was a great artist. Such an asset to the sound of Floyd. He truly will be missed.
My heart is broken. Richards music, lyrics, and singing has been one the biggest parts of my passion for Pink Floyd in my 40 years of life. I am so sorry to hear Richard is gone and I give my sympathy to Mr. Wrights family.
Mr. Wright influenced my life musically. He will live on through his beautiful music he left us.
Definately the driving force of the band. The Pink Floyd sound will never be the same. Richard is now playing with all the greats. I will miss your heart song.
Just thought I’d Leave my condolences. I’m 14 years old, which Im sure many of the older fans will find to young to appreciate this great mans music, but I was brought up around his hauting keyboard parts and I absolutely love them. Im floyd fan till the end, and I wish you were here Rick, you will be greatly missed! Now I guess I will never hear you live with my own ears.
Life with Pink Floyd has brought many memories . When my oldest son was born in 1982 , he had colic and all I could do is pace back and forth. Then on KMET in California Dark Side Of The Moon played. Well , he stopped crying. AMAZING!!.
Still to this day it’s his favorite song.
Thank You to your family forgiving us MEMORIES.
My heart and prayers go to you all.
Here was a man who brought to the industry a sound that would stay relivent even today. We will miss everything about this man and his gift of music.Pink Floyd without dought would not have been without his input and musical genius.God bless this soul
Richard will be dearly missed and loved for decades to come. Pink Floyd has always been my heart and soul and Rick will always be with me thru the music…I’ll never stop listening… We loved you, rest in peace.
I was hoping to take my son to experience Pink Floyd. It will not be the same, with Richard’s passing on the “Great Gig In The Sky” A piece of me is gone, never to return. Farewell my friend and may your journey be a peaceful one.
I shed no tears for Richard, nor for Syd. I know they’ve gone on to the better place, a place without pain, and I hope I’ll see them again one day soon.
Tears for us who’ve still got a ways to go before we reach that place. But not for those who’ve gone on to their rewards.
God Bless Richard and Syd and their family, friends, and many, many fans.
Richard while a quiet member of the group was the glue which held an amazing group together. His unique skills with keyboards brought me to laughter and tgears countless times from the time I first heard Ummaguuma through his brillient work on Echoes and Shine oOn You Crazy Diamond. While it is good to see the vitriolic rantings of Gilmour and Waters have subsided. Some dp mellow with age. It is crushing to know I’ll never hear Richard play live again, though his music will live as long as our civilization does. God Bless the swright family and thank you Richard for enhancing the quality of my life persoanlly as well as the millions your music and acts of charity touched and improved. We’ve all got to go sometime. you just went too soon.
Richard has added something to music, i cannot describe it but surely i can feel it, and i cannot imagine the music today without him! we will surely miss him!
What can I say about one of the greatest keyboardest ever. I will miss all the music that you still hadn’t played yet. Though I only saw you in concert once, it was the best concert ever. You will be missed always. Hope to meet you on the darkside of the moon.

the theme of the Great Gig in The Shy will always have a place in my head and my heart
And may God Bless this great gig in the sea.
He’s up there doin a gig in the sky. Sadly missed..
Richard, this so not fair. We all thought you’d “have something more to say” RIP great one.
God bless and THANK YOU!
